The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles can notarize documents signed by individuals that will be used in the Philippines. Personal appearance of the signatory/ies is a requirement for consular notarization.
Examples of documents that may be notarized by the Consulate General include:

Notarial services provided by the Consulate General do not include the drafting or preparation of legal documents. It is the responsibility of the party availing of the notarization services to prepare their own document. The personnel of the Consulate General also cannot act as witnesses in the document submitted for notarization.
Reminders:
- All clients are required to make a prior appointment through our website.
Appointment slots open every Monday at 5:00 p.m. onwards. - Clients need to bring the original and photocopy of documents for notarization, along with a valid passport or government-issued identification card. Each original document to be notarized must be accompanied by a photocopy the valid passport/ID.
- Personal appearance of the signatory/ies is required. The person availing of notarial services should appear before a consular officer to sign the document for notarization.
- The name and signature in the document to be notarized must be consistent with the information shown in the valid passport/ID
- Processing fee:
For each document to be notarized – US $25.00
Expedite* processing fee – additional US $10.00
(*for release the same day/following day) - Clients who prefer the document to be released through courier service must bring their own self-addressed prepaid stamped USPS Priority mail envelope.
PROCEDURES:
- Set up an appointment through the website.
- Proceed to the Consulate General on the appointment date and time
- Present and sign the document in front of the Consular Office along with the submission of the valid passport/ID
- Proceed to cashier for payment.

EXTRATERRITORIAL SERVICE OF DOCUMENTS (SUMMONS, COURT ORDERS, DEPOSITIONS, ETC) FROM PH
- For legal documents ordered by a Philippine Court to be served within the Consulate’s jurisdiction:
1. Coordinate with the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) –
Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs (OTLA) on the submission of the
following:
a. Court order directing the DFA to undertake the extraterritorial service
of documents, with the complete name and address of the person upon
whom service is to be made (the more precise, the better)
b. Court certified copry of documents to be served
c. Relevant annexes - For Depositions Upon Written Interrogatories within the Consulate’s jurisdiction:
1. Coordinate with the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs (OTLA) on the submission of the
following:
a. Court order directing the DFA to serve the relevant court order and
written interrogatories, with the complete address of the
deponent (the more, the better)
b. Court certified copy of the court order and written interrogatories.2. Upon receipt of the required documents, DFA-OTLA will transmit the
same to the Consulate General.3. Once the documents are recieved from the DFA, the Consulate General
will mail to the deponent the deposition schedule and documents.4. On the scheduled date of dposition, deponent must personally appear
before the Consular Officer with valid identification and the documents.
- ONLY DOCUMENTS SENT BY THE PHILIPPINES’ DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS (DFA) WILL BE PROCESSED BY THE CONSULATE GENERAL
- DO NOT DIRECTLY MAIL TO THE CONSULATE GENERAL THE COURT ORDER AND DOCUMENTS.
